Term 4

With Maori and English results being done, it is hard to keep up with the paper work. However one does and has to. Goldmining kaupapa is very well received by the tamariki. The Tuning in was great, the finding out is all children orientated, The sorting out will be a individual thing and the evaluation will be their final report, what is it that I now know about goldmining. The big question is What impact did goldmining have on New Zealand on the past, present and future. That question we will answer at the end of our camp.

Nose is all blocked up... oh dear ,

What a week

What a week it has been sooooo full on, I don't feel like I have accomplished much. The boys are begining to play up, and having to constantly keep an eye on them is full time job.

The tamariki are slowly begining to update their blogs, with glitter text, but not to encourage more as the like to go on to the internet to play games. woe is me

finished

I think the power point went ok. I had viewed it so many times that I felt that it could have been better, or the point wasnt made. However its done, I do hope that the Minister of Ed can see that the learning has been a very important part of our development not only as schools but as teachers as learners.

MOE

the powerpoint is nearly done... what a lot of learning that has happened. Bill helped with the embedding of video files.... and then the final puting on a cd...

Cant wait to show the staff, because without them the final product would not have been, hope they are all pleased with what they see.

Doing a lot of assessments in Maori and English I wish the Maori assessments would hve come out earlier... neverthe less, I still have records....

Going to the IWB conf in auckland, looking forward to more learning.... love learning new things. My kids are also enjoying using glitter text in their blogs......

Inquiry

While reviewing how to do speeches, we had begun the define, then planning, and I asked the class what will be our next step... one student A. said we sift and sort.. I asked what that meant to them, and they said to gather our information and decide where we want it in our speech or if we want to use it..... YES!!! small step for my class.... giant step for inquiry....

Facilitator or Leader

Was talking to L the other day after our E Learning, and I realised what a the difference between a facililator and a leader was, or my version. A leader leads and feels like a boss, a facilitator leads but in the background and shares their knowledge. well thats what it seems to me.

Nerves

I am getting a little nervous bout lots of things, one this ppt. to MOE, its fun preparing, finding and exploring elements of powerpoint, BUT will the cluster be happy with the outcome. Will the success criteria be achieved ha ha

E Learning

Attended an E Learning day today, and it has only dawned on me after reading the E learning wiki what this role entails. I feel a little apprehensive about taking this on, but I think our school is well on its way. The learning just continues. Its taking things at your own pace.

Yahoo this works now!!! In 2008 our school became a part of the East Side Cluster for ITC, we have now been doing this for nearly 12 months, this is an update and a journey of my reflection.

9 March 2009
A couple of weeks ago I along with others attended the Annual Learning Conference for mostly ICT clusters throughout New Zealand. I thoroughly enjoyed it but it would have better if I was able to go the breakout sessions i wanted to, so instead chose the next best thing. A brief description would have been programs on the web that you can use in your daily class. A mac workshop, which of course we dont have Macs, and a setting up a wiki, netvibes, rss. The interesting thing is that when I presented it to the staff it didnt seem as exciting as I would have liked it to be, and I felt afterwards that it wasnt enough to be able to say it was worthwhile. Nevertheless whats done is done. I do feel that what I do in the class now should be always using interwrite, unless it is a display of somesort.

Whats going on in my classroom. It is harder than I anticipated, only because I am trying to work within the school inquiry learning, and within the maori medium learning. I have taken a step at a time,

MY Goal is to empower my students to learn by teaching them the skills.
How do I intend to do this.... I wonder wall.... I am begining the thinking keys... What if......
Well thats a start.....
this is the second blogging attempt, the first in google blogs. I am going to see first if I can get back into this, and then we will begin my reflection journal for those who I invite in.
